Once upon a time, a radiant thirty-something woman from Trinidad named Marcelle met a sweet forty-something man from the United States of America named Tim and fell in love. Both Marcelle and Tim were good, loving people devoted to Bahá’u’lláh, and they both wished to establish a strong and united Bahá’í family. After marrying, they settled in North Carolina and prayed for a child. The road to having a healthy child was long and heartbreaking but they knew exactly what to do: Ask for more prayers! They knew God’s help would come. Ya’Bahá’ul’Abhá!
Marcelle and Tim asked for prayers from family and friends all over the world. Tim had no living relatives so Marcelle offered her large extended family. Within the instant of marrying Marcelle, Tim gained more love and family than he ever imagined possible. He knew their prayers would be answered. Marcelle knew, as well, as her faith in God was strong. Dozens of people all over the world were praying for their family. Another couple would have given up hope but not Marcelle and Tim: They put their trust in God and asked Bahá’u’lláh for strength.
The miracle and blessing that is Joshua Badí Reimers was born. All around the world, family and friends of Marcelle and Tim rejoiced. Marcelle’s mother and father raced to welcome him home! Welcome to the world, Joshua!
Yours truly, the Prince of Asheville, had his first birthday March 18, 2007!
